The Art of Intimate Mornings

Whether you awake to the sound of peace when the sun hasn't caressed the earth yet, or the intimacy of when the sunlight kisses your skin hello as you roll to the side in your soft silk duvet covers... Mornings are always such a detailed routine that reveals the type of person you are. For some, mornings are spent in solitude... a sort of peace where you haven't spoken to a single soul. Others may spend their mornings preparing for work, college, or even the early stages of motherhood where their child calls for them. Either way, morning routines are the epitome of how our day would start. Rushing when you're late for an event, work, or even college would start your whole day off like that. Never resting or catching your breath, and always on a move. We weren't meant to live life in a constant rush, we were meant to rest. Starting your day in peace will reflect your whole day... I always read the Holy Bible in the mornings to start my day with God since He is the source of my peace. Others may start their morning with coffee, tea, a book, Le Petite 3 Newspaper, or even move their body. A minority group of people may even start their mornings on their phones. This will lead to a distraction throughout the day because opening the digital world when you just awoke will overwhelm or numb your brain with a limitless amount of passive information. Starting your day off with prayer, stretching, or your thoughts will allow you to be more engaged and in tune with your mind and body. Think of it like this... Imagine yourself living in the country, it doesn't matter where. At the crack of dawn you hear the sweet song of birds singing cheerfully, as you smell the sweet fragrance of a bouquet of honeysuckles, peonies, and lilies left out on the old wooden window seal as the sun breaks in the sky smiling on them. You open your eyes and embrace the fresh air as nature whispers good morning to you, You wipe your sleepy eyes from last night's dreams and rise as your sheer white cotton nightgown falls at your feet. Your skin sings as you stretch, allowing air to pass through you. A monarch butterfly glides through the open window and lands on your favorite pink teacup shaped as a flower. You look at it with serenity but also wonder how such a creature is so beautiful and free and yet has such a short life. You make your way towards your tiny but intricate kitchen and make rose tea with buttermilk pancakes paired with delicious maple syrup. Opening your small cream milk refrigerator, you find the plump cherries and figs you picked from your garden yesterday and add that to your breakfast. It was sweet...
